Services Used
The Challenge
A MailMate client needed their Minamisōma City property fully set up for a year-end move-in, but the standard utility setup was only half the problem. The property relied on a septic tank with no documentation in the Statement of Important Matters, leaving a compliance gap that required navigating Japanese environmental law, city hall, and local waste services from scratch.
The Solution
MailMate set up all utilities on the client's behalf, covering electricity, water, propane gas, and internet. On the septic side, MailMate contacted Minamisōma City's Environmental Sanitation Division to confirm local requirements, sourced and contracted a vendor for a year-round maintenance plan covering four checks and one legal inspection, and managed all invoicing and payments directly so the client never had to navigate a Japanese bank transfer.
The Results
- All utilities live and compliant before the December 30th move-in
- Septic tank fully documented, inspected, and on a legal maintenance schedule
- Saved the client 15+ hours of administrative calls and paperwork
- Handled all vendor payments directly — no Japanese bank transfers needed
