Not everyone needs community dinners or free events. If you’re looking to save money and just need a desk and printing facilities, CASE Shinjuku has you covered.
There are two wings, North and South, with the South Wing dedicated to shared-office members who can enjoy 24/7 access.
The North wing is a sprawling space with huge tables and plenty of power outlets. Drop-in users can pay as little as $3.38 for one hour ($13.50 for three-plus hours), with printing at around 6 cents per page. Outside food and drink are allowed, as are phone and Skype calls, so this isn’t the quietest or fanciest choice, but it’s in a convenient location and won’t force you to pay for anything you don’t need.
One notable difference between CASE and some other coworking spaces is that when you enter, in true Japanese style, you’ll be asked to take your shoes off, so be sure to wear socks!
Price range
- $186/month for shared desk, as little as $3.38 for a one-hour drop-in.
Hours
- 10 AM-6 PM for North Wing, closed on Sundays.

The atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxed. The staff is nice and accommodating. Even if you don't speak Japanese, they will try to accommodate you as best they can. There are occasionally social events held after hours which is a great opportunity to meet people and make friends. Best of all they provide external monitors for you to use, even for drop-ins, which is somewhat rare for co-working spaces. (Google Reviews)
I love CASE Shinjuku! I recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, bright and airy space to work. Morishita and her staff was very welcoming and helpful even when we would do something wrong (we aren’t Japanese and can’t read the signs about coffee, exits, etc). Their English was also good and we were able to communicate fairly well. The drop-in space easily accommodated my team of 13 people and we had plenty of free outlets and monitors available for use. The noise level was low and we were able to be productive. The music selection was good and when it wasn’t, they were happy to change it. There were also a few nice perks like a vending machine and a lunch event. For a quick lunch, KFC was on the first floor, Lawson’s across the street, and a wealth of restaurants all around. The only cons I can think of was that the WiFi went out a few times for a few minutes during our 5 days there. Otherwise, everything else was perfect! Overall, a unique place to work and meet great people! (Google Reviews)
